Summer! We just came back from our Laoag - Pagudpud trip. But we are still craving for other outdoor activities. May 1 is a holiday, we are supposed to go to Subic for beach, tree top adventure and el kabayo waterfalls. But we changed our minds and headed to Pagsanjan Falls / Magdapio Falls instead. Pagsanjan Falls geographically is not in Pagsanjan but in Cavinti. But the boat ride starts in Pagsanjan going to Cavinti. The boat ride payment is 1350 pesos per person, minimum of 2 persons per boat, maximum of 3 persons per boat.
Of the payment you do, the 2 boatmen will receive 400 pesos per boatman. The boatmen with still pay for the boat rental, pay at the checkpoint, and pay for the motorized boat that pulls the non-motorized boat at the early part of the ride. That is why you have to give "tip" to the boatmen. The rest of the money will be divided by the three towns that operate the Pagsanjan / Magdapio Falls, namely Pagsanjan, Cavinti and Lumban for the salary of the raftmen, checkpoint men, etc, and for the maintenance of the place.
Most of the work is actually done by the boatmen, it is really difficult to bring a boat with passengers to Magdapio upstream. Go there and you will know what I mean.
We left Manila by 0700 hours, and reached Pagsanjan by 0900 hours. Jimny. The distance from Manila to Pagsanjan to Manila is 200 kms.

We ate burger and halo-halo at Aling Taleng's in Pagsanjan near the Pagsanjan arc. Yummy! And bought tablea, again, yummy! Then we went to Melissa's boat ride place. Then we drove and parked our Jimny safely at the departure area.
The boat ride is about an hour from Pagsanjan to Pagsanjan / Magdapio Falls. It was really hot that day! Then we stopped at the Lumban river foodplace to eat chicken barbeque and rice and drank coke. We gave our boatmen chicken bbq, rice and coke. "kawawa naman". Then we continued our boat ride.
When we reached the falls, we rode the raft going to the cave behind the waterfalls where we stayed for 2 hours. We really enjoyed this activity. My son really enjoyed the Pagsanjan / Magdapio Falls. We really enjoyed swimming, of course with lifevests.
This a day filled with good things. This is a 1 day activity. We are home in Manila by 1700 hours.
